{Scrapbook Page} The Best Day

I had a bit of fun with leftover letter stickers with this page.
There was a particular set of letter stickers that had been sitting in my stash for soooo long. I would always pick it up, look at it and realise there were never enough letters to use for a title.
So I stuck all of them on my background and threw out the packaging. Very satisfying.

I used:

Papers: Crate Paper, Simple Stories, Dear Lizzy, October Afternoon, cardstock
Stickers and tags: Simples Stories, October Afternoon
Embellies: Freckled Fawn clip, Dlish Scraps washi
Lettering: Carolee's Creations
Other: WOW stencil, Mr Huey's color mist, gesso

{Scrapbook Page} Again?

This was a fun picture to scrap. She looked so cute one morning with her school uniform on and I wanted to take a photo. And then she pulled a face because she saw mum pulling out the camera - AGAIN :)
I'm joining in the sketchy joy over at Purple Pumpkin for the first time.

I used:

Papers: American Crafts, Dear Lizzy, Simple Stories, cardstock
Tags: Imaginisce, Elle's Studio
Embellies: Dlish Scraps star pin, glitter strip, bow, doily, washi tape, micro stars
Other: TCW stencil, Mr Huey's color mist, pen

{Scrapbook Page} Life etc

I've tackled another challenge (well, when you're in the zone, I say go with it!). Scrap Friends have a gorgeous sketch at the moment and I'm really pleased with the result. I seem to have a thing for thread at the moment :)

And my interpretation...I used gesso mixed with black to create the stenciled grey arrows and then scraped leftover gesso on the top and bottom of the page.
The title is white on white with silver pen highlights - but it hasn't come across well in the photo. I promise it looks better in person :)

I was thinking about the dripping look of the sketch. I've only just recently created something that used that ink dripping technique and I didn't want to do it again so soon. So thread came out instead to create the look. I didn't have yellow thread so I sprayed white thread with Yellow Color Mist. Worked a treat.

I used:

Papers: vellum, Prima Marketing
Stickers, Tags and Die cuts: Simple Stories stickers
Embellies: sequins, Queen & Co. felt fusion hearts
Lettering: Studio Calico transfers
Other: silver pen, staples, stitching, thread, doily, Mr Huey's color mist, gesso mixed with black paint, Urban Artist stencil

{Scrapbook Page} How you get there

I enjoy using mood boards as inspiration for my scrapbook pages. It helps me sometimes when I face the dreaded blank 12x12!!
This page is all about travelling by train and how my kids think it's still so much fun. Sometimes it doesn't really matter where we're going but for them it's about the journey on the train. They always seem to learn something new.

I used:

Papers: an old map, Carta Bella, October Afternoon, Echo Park, Becky Higgins, cardstock
Tags, stickers and die cuts: Simple Stories stickers, Basic Grey stickers
Embellishments: Dlish Scraps fabric strip, Doodlebug Design mini pearls,
Lettering: Prima Marketing, American Crafts
Other: stapler, thread

This is the mood board I used as inspiration. I used splashes of red, some yellow and the blues are mainly the background. I have a stash of old books and maps to tear pages from so that handy :)

{Scrapbook Page} Girl with the pink shoes

This was a fun page to create. As I say in the journalling, the title comes from a DVD my daughter loved at the time called 'Barbie with the pink shoes'. Should I be concerned she has a love for shoes so early in life? I think not!

I used:

Papers: cardstock, American Crafts
Tags, stickers and die cuts: Kaisercraft, American Crafts
Embellishments: Prima Marketing flowers, Kaisercraft brad, Freckled Fawn clip, Kaisercraft die cut
Other: Close To My Heart ink, The crafter's workshop stencil, date stamp

I've entered the Once Upon A Sketch Feb 2014 Challenge...(I've flipped the sketch)

{Scrapbook Page} Love xxx

I'm slowly getting into the habit of scrapping for challenges. One of my favourite places to shop is at D-Lish Scraps so it's been fun to join in the challenges lately.
I've used their recent 'Just Add Paper' kit and played along with their monthly inspiration board challenge.
I was inspired by the cross stitch heart on the pillow :)

{Scrapbook Page} Christmas Tree Joy; Christmas Cheer @ School

I'm still trying to work out the appropriate/inappropriate time to post Christmas layouts! But since my Blue Bazaar kit for December contained a stack of Christmas themed paper and embellishments I thought I'd scrap a couple of pages before these kids of mine grow up (because frankly, it's happening too quickly). In both layouts the journalling is hidden behind the photo which is something I'm doing more of these days.
This first one was about putting up the Christmas tree for the season. It's always an exciting time for them and I love the smiles on their faces.

I used:

Papers: Fancy Pants, Glitz, Echo Park, Heidi Swapp
Stickers and die cuts: Little Yellow Bicycle die cut words and tag; Fancy Pants ticket roll
Embellishments: D-Lish Scrapswood veneer stars, arrow and camera; Doodlebugs design mini pearls
Lettering: Echo Park
Other: D-Lish Scraps doily, Close To My Heart twine, vellum pocket

This second layout was the kids' Christmas festivities day and they enjoyed dressing up in festive colours.

I used:

Papers: Pink Paislee, American Crafts Glitter paper, Green cardstock, Echo Park
Stickers and die cuts: Echo Park, Pink Paislee, Little Yellow Bicycle, Imaginisce, Simple Stories, Fancy Pants ticket roll
Embellishments: Sequins, Large brad, D-Lish Scraps washi tape
Lettering: Echo Park, Amy Tangerine chipboard symbol,
Other: Doily

{Scrapbook Page} The Lego Life

This is probably only the second double layout I've ever done! And it was done as an afterthought...
I completed the first page and thought it was self explanatory so I didn't include any journalling. Just the place name and  the date. Once I was done, I noticed two more photos from the same event that I forgot I had printed so another page came along.
I didn't have any more of the hexagon paper so I cut out some hexagons from cardstock that was close in colour to the patterned paper. Then I included journalling. It feels complete now.

I used:

Papers: cardstock, Kaisercraft, Echo Park, American Crafts
Tags, Stickers, die cuts: Kaisercraft, Imaginisce, Echo Park, Everyday Lil Snippet
Embellies: Freckled Fawn frame, Kaisercraft brads
Lettering: Echo Park, Kaisercraft
