Jot Magazine challenge

So I've made it just in time to enter Jot Magazine's mood board challenge. The colours and images are incredible, I just couldn't resist....

And this is my take on it. I was particularly inspired by the two doors.

I used a quote as my title - which I love doing and haven't done in a while. And as much as I love hand writing my journaling, this time I typed it up and I'm happy how it came out.

I added cut files and only a few embellishments and a bit of machine stitching. It ended up being a page reflecting on my kids growing up. Unexpected and lovely.

Sassy Scrappers challenge

I could not resist the Sassy Scrappers mood board challenge. The colours and images are absolutely beautiful and I just had to join in.

March Moodboard Challenge

I have a love/hate relationship with my gelatos - I still don't feel comfortable with using them but here I was taking them out for this layout :) And I'm very happy with what I came up with.

I borrowed a border punch from a friend recently and I punched one side of a stack of white cardstock ready for me to use when I please. I selected 5 gelato colours for my background and that was the extent to which I was willing to go!

I really love using cut files and I often cut from white cardstock. I always have the intention of using watercolours or paint if I wanted to add colour to the die cuts but never do. I just love the look of  the white shapes.

I added muslin - again. Sometimes I think my layouts look a little sparse but I was still happy with how this turned out.

Getting Krafty

I joined in over at Kraft Plus Challenges again this month. Mainly because I don't automatically reach for Kraft paper to scrap. I'm usually going for the good ol' white cardstock so this challenge forces me to try something new every time.

I used this lovely sketch and true to form, the Kraft paper led me to create something a little different for me.

I added some messy stitching (boy, it's hard for me to go off-track - on purpose) and I used some rub-ons that have been sitting in my stash for YEARS. I've been using tissue paper a lot lately to add to my layers too.

I used a little Kraft-on-Kraft with an embossed tag and then added some glitter. Good fun :)

Scrappy Canary challenge

No, your eyes don't deceive you! I have scrapped :) It's been a while. Things have been crazy hectic (i.e. life gets in the way of scrapbooking). I broke my rule and have completed a couple of layouts even though I haven't quite finished my university work - but I'm close, so so close :)

I joined in over at Scrappy Canary's monthly challenge. I started getting their kits recently and I'm really happy with them so far. Manda works hard at getting the kits just right.

I do love a grid sketch! :) And here's my take:

Some journaling as a border and of course a little machine stitching, 'cos I can't help myself. This was a quick one for me but it felt good to get creative again. And I managed to tidy up my craft space. All in a day's work :)
